My role at UCSD |
|
In addition to my managerial role at the
Career Services Center, I advise students on anything and
everything related to careers and job search. This includes
critiquing resumes, figuring out what to with your major,
interviewing effectively, and more. You may also see me
presenting at one of our many career-related workshops. |
|
My career path |
|
When I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree, I
was one of those Psychology majors who didn’t know what they
could do with just a B.A. degree. My first job was in
juvenile probation working with adolescents and their
families. After about two years of this, I went back to
graduate school and got my M.A. in Counseling. After an
all-important internship in my school’s career center, I
started here at UCSD as a Career Advisor. Eventually, I
moved into the role of Graduate Student Career Coordinator
and then to my current role as Assistant Director of Career
Development. |

The rewards in doing what I do |
|
I thoroughly enjoy playing a small role in
helping to launch the careers of bright, motivated students
and alumni like you. In particular, I take pride in seeing
students gain confidence in themselves and their ability to
decide on a career direction and land that first meaningful
full-time position. |
|
My words of wisdom to students |
|
Trust your own instincts and know that even
though the job search process may seem overwhelming at
times, you’ve got the tools to be successful if you stick
with it. |
|
When I'm not on campus... |
|
I enjoy hanging out with my family, coaching
my son’s baseball team, or listening to and playing music.
