My role at UCSD

I help students navigate their journey to graduate or professional school as an Advisor with the Career Services Center’s Professional and Graduate School Opportunities Program. Additionally, I serve as a Career Peer Educator Program coordinator and supervise the Professional & Graduate School Peer.

My career path

After numerous involvements in student affairs and student government while in undergrad and in law school, I became a lawyer in the San Francisco Bay Area.  I practiced law in the intellectual property and general commercial litigation fields for a while before deciding to make a career change and go “back to school” for a job in student services.  I began working here at UCSD in January of 2005.

The rewards in doing what I do

Vividly remembering what it was like to feel “lost” when I was a student looking toward grad school, I enjoy being able to help today’s students find their way toward their futures.

My words of wisdom to students
There are many roads that lead to the same destination.  Take the one that suits you best even if it’s not the one everyone else is taking.  And don’t forget to have fun along the way!
When I'm not on campus...
. . . I hang out with my friends and family, listen to music (rock/pop/alt/punk), go to the movies and theater, carouse about town, sing, read, write (bad poetry, screenplays), and enjoy the beautiful weather and beaches here in San Diego!
