My role at UCSD |
|
As
Internship Advisor for the Career Services Center, it is my
goal to demystify the career exploration and internship/job
search process. In addition to conducting
internship-related workshops, I meet with students during
walk-in hours and by appointment to discuss career
interests, and to help them locate and prepare for
internship opportunities. |
|
My career path |
|
My career
began at Wells College as Public Affairs major. While
there, I interned at a free law clinic in DC, and went off
to study Spanish art in Spain. After several years of
program coordinating and budget work for San Diego-based
non-profits, I returned to school to study counseling. I
have since graduated from the University of San Diego with a
Master of Arts degree in Counseling, specializing in Career
Development. |

My words of wisdom to students |
|
There is no
absolute right or wrong way to go, so just enjoy the
journey. Get involved with campus organizations, study
abroad, intern, and enjoy the opportunity to learn at one of
the top schools in the United States. Explore the world and
get to know yourself. This is your time, so trust yourself
and have no fear! |
|
When I'm not on campus... |
|
I am
planning a trip, traveling, or talking about a recent
excursion. I have had the opportunity to live in New York,
Washington DC, Los Angeles, and San Diego, as well as travel
throughout the United States. I have also met people and
explored new cultures by visiting Mexico, Canada, Japan,
Indonesia, Honduras, Germany, Spain, Scotland, England, the
Netherlands, France, Italy, Belgium, and China. I feel very
lucky! |
