My role at UCSD |
|
I serve as
an advising assistant within the Professional and Graduate
School Opportunities Program. I help students locate the
correct resources in regards to professional and graduate
school exploration, as well as help them to navigate
admissions and application processes. |
|
My career path |
|
After working in student
services as an undergraduate at UC Santa Barbara, I knew
that I wanted to pursue a career as an administrator in the
university environment. I completed my M.S.Ed. in Higher
Education Management at the University of Pennsylvania (Go
Quakers!) and have worked in a variety of higher education
institutions since then, including UC Berkeley and the
University of Washington. |
|
The rewards in doing what I do |
|
I love talking to students from
all different backgrounds and learning about their
educational and career aspirations. I also enjoy being in a
position to answer questions and resolve problems for
students during what can be a potentially stressful time in
their lives. |

My words of wisdom to students |
|
Your college years will fly by,
so enjoy them! Make sure to maintain a good balance of work
and fun. Also, try and seek out mentors in the field that
you’re interested in – the campus is a wonderful resource
full of people who are willing to help you with your
educational and career goals; you just need to seek them
out! |

When I'm not on campus... |
|
As a new resident to San Diego,
I am exploring all of the wonderful beaches, Mexican food,
and neighborhoods within the area. Other than that, I am a
huge University of Arizona Wildcats basketball fan. I also
enjoy watching reality TV, traveling as often as possible,
hanging out with friends and family, golfing, and shopping. |
