About Marlyn Mills
My email and phone information
My role at UCSD

I assist students and employers with the On-Campus Interviewing Program.  I notify students about all of the companies that recruit on campus quarterly, as well as the process of resume submission and interview sign-ups.  I assist employers with their on-campus interview reservations.

I assist with the Opportunity Alliance by sending out invitations to select companies and following up with phone calls explaining ways to boost their recruitment efforts and make an important contribution to the career development of the students and alumni of UCSD

I coordinate the Educational Placement Reference File, making new files, logging letters of recommendations into the system, and processing mailing requests.

My career path

I started working for UCSD in June 1976 in the Personnel Department.  I left the university and worked for a private company, and after several years I decided that I enjoyed working in an educational institution.  In October 1982 I started working at the UCSD Career Services Center.  I like helping students, so the Career Services Center is a great place to be.

The rewards in doing what I do

When I hear from students regarding an offer they received from an employer by utilizing the on-campus interviewing program.  Hearing great reviews from employers about the quality of students and that they enjoy recruiting here at UCSD.

My words of wisdom to students

Be persistent and follow through with your goals.

When I'm not on campus...
I enjoy being with my family.  My son Jacob – age 6, acts 15 – sure keeps me busy.  I also keep in touch with a bunch of friends and coordinate a luncheon once a month.  I love to cook and plan family functions.
