My role at UC San Diego

As a Career Advisor for the Career Services Center, it is my goal to demystify the career exploration and internship/job search process. In addition to conducting internship-related workshops, I meet with students during walk-in hours and by appointment to discuss career interests, and to help them locate and prepare for career opportunities.

My career path

While studying Public Affairs at Wells College, I interned at a free law clinic in DC, worked on a national political campaign, and somehow found time to venture off to Spain to study Spanish art. After several years of program coordinating and budget work for San Diego-based non-profits, I returned to school to study counseling. I have since graduated from the University of San Diego with a Master of Arts degree in Counseling, specializing in Career Development.

The rewards in doing what I do

I love that I get to participate in the "Aha" moments students experience as part of their career development.

My words of wisdom to students

There is no absolute right or wrong way to go, so just enjoy the journey.  Get involved with campus organizations, study abroad, intern, and enjoy the opportunity to learn at one of the top schools in the United States.  Explore the world and get to know yourself.  This is your time, so trust yourself and have no fear!

In my free time...

I am dreaming of places to visit, planning a trip, traveling, or talking about a recent excursion. So far I've had the opportunity to explore cities in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Japan, Indonesia, Honduras, Germany, Spain, Scotland, England, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Belgium, and China. I feel very lucky to have met many generous and inspirational people along the way.
