Survey of Recent UC San Diego Graduates
Graduating UC San Diego students used a wide variety of search strategies to secure their first jobs out of college. Twenty-nine percent of employed respondents converted internships or previous jobs into permanent career positions. Twenty-six percent utilized online resources to find their positions, including job boards, employer web sites, and listings posted on the Career Services Center’s Port Triton. Direct employer contact methods, including job fairs and on-campus interviewing, resulted in employment for approximately 21 percent of respondents. Fifteen percent of employed respondents utilized networking methods to secure their positions.
