Survey of Recent UC San Diego Graduates
Graduating UC San Diego students used a wide variety of search strategies to secure their first jobs out of college. Nearly thirty-six percent of employed respondents converted internships or previous job experience into permanent career positions. Twenty-eight percent utilized online resources to find their positions, including job boards, employer websites, social networking, and listings posted on the Career Services Center’s Port Triton. Direct employer contact methods, including job fairs and on-campus interviewing, resulted in employment for approximately 15% of respondents.
