Signature Events

The Career Center organizes events throughout the year to support students' professional development. These include career fairs, where job seekers can connect with potential employers; employer information sessions that provide insights into various companies and industries; skill-building workshops covering topics such as resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies; and networking events designed to foster connections with industry professionals, alumni, and peers. Additionally, the Career Center hosts panel discussions, career exploration programs, and mentorship opportunities to further enhance career readiness and success.

Workshop Series: Year-Round 

The Workshop Series provides ongoing career and professional development programming throughout the academic year. Workshops cover high-demand topics such as resumes and cover letters, internship, job and career search strategies, LinkedIn and networking, and interviewing. Sessions on Career Center resources and Handshake are also offered. Workshops are available in person and virtually, with both daytime and evening options. 


Fall Quarter 

Career Center Open House: August 2026 

The annual Career Center Open House introduces students to available resources, services, and staff. The event is designed as a guided experience through the Center, allowing students to learn what we offer and how to engage with our services. Students can explore the space, gain career insights, and connect with staff and peers. All students are welcome to attend. 

Career Fair: October 2026 

The Career Fair provides students with valuable opportunities to connect with employers across a wide range of industries. Open to students of all majors and class levels, these in-person events support exploration of internships, part-time, and full-time roles. Students can engage directly with recruiters, build professional connections, and gain insight into organizational needs, career paths, and available opportunities.  

Graduate & Professional School Fair: October 2026 

The Graduate & Professional School Fair supports students interested in pursuing advanced degrees. Representatives from graduate and professional programs are available to discuss admissions requirements, program structure, and application processes. The fair allows students to compare options and ask questions in one setting. This event takes place in person. 


Winter Quarter 

Cap, Gown & Career: A Career Success Series: February 2027 

Cap, Gown, & Career is a virtual workshop series created for students preparing to graduate. While it aligns with topics from the broader Workshop Series, this program provides more in-depth preparation for post-graduation transitions. Sessions focus on job search readiness, professional communication, and early-career planning. Although geared toward graduating students, the series is open to all students interested in gaining deeper insight into career preparation beyond UC San Diego. 


Spring Quarter 

Triton Trek: March 2027 

A Triton Trek is an immersive site-visit experience that connects UC San Diego students directly with employers in their workplaces. Through guided visits, students gain firsthand insight into company culture, career pathways, and industry expectations, while building meaningful professional connections. These experiences help students explore potential career interests and better prepare for internships and full-time opportunities.
