On-Campus Interviewing (OCI)

This program offers UC San Diego students and recent alumni the opportunity to interview with a variety of employers each term.  Interviews are for entry-level positions and internships.  Accessing OCI requires registration through Port Triton.  The information below offers guidance on how to participate.
 

1 View the list of employers interviewing
  1. Login to Port Triton.
  2. Under Quick Links, Select All On-Campus Interviews.
2 Upload an on-line resume
  1. Receive assistance with Writing your Resume.
  2. Login to Port Triton.
  3. Select Documents
  4. Select Add New to upload your resume/cover letter/unofficial transcript and/or other documents.
  5. Assistance with uploading your resume is available in our Career Library on the first floor of the Career Services Center during open hours.
3 How to Apply
  1. Click on Job Title of your interest and Under Application Status, review employer requirements and documentation necessary to be considered for an interview.
  2. Review dress code.  Here are some guidelines.

If you don't meet the company requirements (major, graduate date, etc.)

  1. Under Application Status, a message display why you do not meet the company's requirements.  
5 Apply for Interviews
  1. Event type - Open - on a first-come first served basis, qualified applicants sign up for an interview time slot and submit a resume.
  2. Event type - Preselect - applicants meeting the company requirements may submit a resume.  The company recruiter will review submitted resumes and an email will be sent to you.
6 Check your Email daily
  1. Companies will use this method to notify you that you have been pre-selected for an interview.
7 Check to see if you have been pre-selected and to sign up for an interview
  1. Login to Port Triton.
  2. Select My Interviews, select Interview Requests
  3. If you were pre-selected, sign up for an interview time slot within the established deadlines posted on the schedule.
    Note:  Most interviews last 30 minutes and may run over.  Take this into consideration when signing up for interviews held on the same day.

8 Remove a sign up or resume from a specific interview schedule
  1. Login to Port Triton.
  2. Select Scheduled Interview and select the interview affected, and resubmit your resume or withdraw.
  3. Note:  If the sign-up or resume submission deadline has passed, contact us at (858) 534-6710.
9  View a list of companies conducting presentations
  1. Login to Port Triton.
  2. Select Fairs/Employer Presentations and select Employer Presentation schedule to view presentations.
  3. Select a company from the list if you want to reserve a seat (RSVP).
10 Interview Day
  1. Go to the second floor of the UC San Diego Career Services Center at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled interview time and wait in the lobby area for the recruiter to call your name.
11 Cancellation/No Show Policy
  1. Failure to cancel your on-campus interview prior to the sign-up withdrawal deadline date or not showing up for your scheduled interview time will result in the loss of your interviewing privileged for one full year.   Please contact (858) 534-6710 or email for additional instructions.
