- About Me
My role at UC San Diego
I am the departmental liaison for the Student Affairs and the Business Affairs departments on campus. I assist various departments with their student employment needs. I am also the Non-Profit Partnership Coordinator for the Off Campus Work-Study Program. Through this role, I partner with various non-profits around campus and throughout San Diego with the intent of creating job opportunities for UCSD students.
My career path
As a UCSD alumni '15, my career path has mainly focused on academia. As an undergraduate, I worked at the Career Services Center for 3 years as the student assistant to the Student Employment Office.
The rewards in doing what I do
Working as the coordinator for various non-profit organizations, I know that my position aids the community. UCSD students are actively going out into the community to do lab research, assisting medical foundations, working with social services organizations, etc. The most rewarding part of my job is knowing that I am running a program that is doing all of that for our community.
My words of wisdom to students
“Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.” – Oscar Wilde
In my free time...
I love to read--absolutely love it. I didn’t get the chance to read for fun throughout college because everything I had to read was assigned (which takes the fun out everything). So now that I have free time, I enjoy reading everything from fiction to autobiographies.
