My role at UC San Diego
I coach, advise, counsel, and connect students in their career journey. I have the opportunity to help students in reaching their career goal. Each person’s journey is different and that makes it exciting. In addition to direct appointments, I reach out to build relationships across campus and provide resources to aid students to develop, grow, and discover. It is great to be part of the road to success.
My career path
After my undergraduate experience at the University of Michigan, which included study abroad, I served in Americorps. I received a B.A. in Spanish at the University of Michigan and Master of Training and Development at Oakland University. I have worked in both community college and at the university level in Career Services. I made a big move from Michigan to San Diego and got the opportunity to work at UCSD in Revelle College as an Academic Counselor. I came back to Career Services and am happy to be doing the meaningful and impactful work we do.
The rewards in doing what I do
Knowing in a large or small way, that I have the chance to positively impact a person’s life every day.
My words of wisdom to students
Listen, be involved, and live the way you want to be remembered. Don’t be afraid to ask for help and make sure to find a great mentor.
In my free time...
I love spending time with my family, getting outdoors, doing something creative, and enjoying the gift of each day.
