Career readiness is the foundation for successfully entering the workforce and managing your career over time. It includes the core skills and competencies that employers value and that prepare students to transition from college to career.
For colleges and universities, career readiness connects academic and co-curricular experiences to career outcomes. For employers, it provides a framework for identifying and developing talent across industries.
The Career Center is committed to helping students develop the essential skills and competencies needed for success in today’s workforce. Our work is guided by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Career Readiness Competencies, along with competencies identified by University of California, San Diego.
Together, these frameworks highlight the knowledge, skills, and abilities that employers value most and provide a foundation for students to effectively prepare for and navigate their career paths.
