Off-Campus
Work-Study Program
What is Off-Campus Work-Study?
Many UC San Diego students receive federally funded work-study awards as part of their financial aid package. The Career Center facilitates two work-study programs each year. These programs enable non-profit, governmental, community-based agencies, and schools to hire students at a significant salary savings.
Non-Profit Partnership
Students may work in the fields of healthcare, biological research, child care, community improvement, civic education, support services for students with disabilities, mentoring activities such as tutoring, and educational / recreational activities.
Reading & Math Tutor Program
Students work as reading tutors with Pre-K through 5th or 6th grade students and/or for family literacy. Students also work as Math Tutors with K-8th grades to assist with math in schools and in other non-profit organizations.
